Monkey,
When did you become nearly two? In my mind there are little milestones that have made me hold my breath along the way... my little baby is growing too big for her bassinet, my little baby is reaching for food.... cruising the furniture, walking.....becoming a toddler.
And now here we are. Nearly Two.
You are quite the social butterfly. Today, on a trip to the local park, you toddled up to a young boy and said proudly "Me Isobel Georgia!" He was too young to understand but that didnt stop you looking for a play mate. A little girl about your age was standing alone, so you walked right up to her.. pulled your pink bag off your shoulder and offered her my lipgloss (that you were holding hostage).
You are fun, cheeky, always smiling (except when you are chucking a massive wobbly), adventurous, a master negotiator, curious and girly - you luurve my make up bag and having your nails painted by the 'big kids' - and yet you have a knock- about streak too that is not afraid to get messy, jump in muddy puddles and eat dirt.
You are talking in sentences at nearly two... you tell me what you want, when you want it or you just get it yourself. You are impossible to keep out of the fridge - always hunting for cheese and cake.
I love your little obsessions - currently umbrella's (which you call 'brellasister), my 'boobies' - although this obsession is not my favourite as you seem to think they are the most hilarious looking things on the planet (you are not wrong) and you try and get them out at the worst of times. You are continously trying to get me to buy you some 'glips' when we go shopping... I have only just worked out that 'glips' are 'gloves' and no matter how many times we tell you that they are called gloves. You refuse to call them anything but glips!
Your memory is incredible. You are afraid of 'the man' - which man, we are not sure. You are also afraid of the Frog Prince and you tell us this almost every day "Frog Price - Scary. Scary Man" The little girls I look after have told you its a scary movie and you havent forgotten it.
You and your Daddy are two peas in a pod. As soon as you hear his keys in the door, you yelp with excitement, drop what you are doing and race to meet him. Just before you reach the door, you collapse in anticipation of the tickles you know you are about to be attacked with.. you are wriggling and giggling before he has even walked in!
Isobel Georgia, my little monkey - a million words wont be able to describe how it feels to be your mumma. From falling in love with you over those first few months of your delicate life to watching you become the beautiful independent little girl that you are growing in to - you have taken us on an amazing journey and already shown us so much about ourselves and about love in your nearly two years of life!
xx

Isobel is indeed absolutely gorgeous!
They grow way too fast don't they?
She's beautiful. My Bebito is 2 in September and I know exactly what you mean. It's insanity how quickly they change - a month is a lifetime in some ways. I want to stop the change so I can appreciate it better. And the Frog Prince is a scary man. ;)
